Vasiliki-Rafaela Vakouftsi
President of the Greek Patients’ Association
Vasiliki-Rafaela Vakouftsi is the President of the Hellenic Society of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis’ Patients – HELLESCC and the President of the Greek Patients’ Association. In addition, she is a Clinical Trial Ambassador, participates as a Patient Advisor at the Health Outcomes Observatory, while in 2021 she was a Fellow of the Crohn’s and Colitis Young Adults Network and is registered in the European Medicines Agency (EMA) expert database. She has completed the training programs EFCCA Academy – Training Certified Patient Experts: Training on ClinicalTrials, EFCCA YOUTH Academy: Leaders for Tomorrow and in October 2023 she graduated from the European Patients’ Academy EUPATI (European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation). During her years of involvement with patient associations, she has participated in a number of conferences at national, European and international level, in several of them as a speaker, while at the same time as a patient representative she actively participates in a number of committees and working groups in national and European bodies concerning IBDs, health policy making, patients’ rights, drug shortages, clinical studies, etc. Finally, articles in which she participates as an author have been published in prestigious scientific journals and have been presented at numerous health related conferences.
George Kapetanakis
George Kapetanakis is the President of the Hellenic Cancer Federation – ELLOK and the President of the Pieria Cancer Patients Association. His experience 13 years earlier with cancer was the catalyst to start a process of active participation and involvement in support of oncology patients. Together with other patients with the same vision, he has worked consistently since 2015 to create and develop the Hellenic Cancer Federation as the Umbrella organization for the Cancer Patient Associations in Greece.
He is an active volunteer and member of the Association of Bone Marrow Donation Volunteers “Orama Elpidas”, promoting the national awareness campaign for voluntary Bone Marrow Donation. He advocates the European perspective as a necessary and sufficient condition to address contemporary cancer care challenges and reduce existing inequalities effectively. In addition, he believes that the cooperation of cancer patient organizations at the European level can provide practical solutions to the severe problems that cancer patients across Europe face every day. He is professionally active in the field of financial services.

One of our most valuable members, Michalis is with the IKH Group, more than 11 years now. Throughout his career in the Group, Mihalis has always been demonstrating adaptability in any given situation and a unique sense of honesty, transparency, and ethical behavior towards everyone, any time. He started out as principal project manager, then moved to General Manager of the Healthcare IT Business unit and successfully managed more than 20 major projects, strengthening the Group’s position in the market.

Niki Tsouma
Niki Tsouma CEO, IDIKA S.A.
Top Executive of the Public Administration in the Sector of Informatics. A graduate of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Athens, with specialization in Programming and Systems Analysis and a graduate of the National School of Public Administration with highest distinction. She is a lecturer at the National School of Public Administration on ITS Project Management and E-Government issues. She is an external expert in EU committees for the evaluation of innovative proposals in software technologies and cloud computing of the H2020 Program. She has participated in the design, analysis, development, implementation, and installation of large, complex, and critical IT projects of the Public Administration, serving as a member of Project Management Teams and as a Project Manager for 25 years in General Secretariat of Information Systems of the Ministry of Finance and the Information Society S.A.
From 2010 to 2014 she was a consultant in reengineering and change management issues and in the project and risk management cases as well as co-financed projects of the General Secretaries of Information Systems of the Ministry of Finance. From 2015 to 2017 she served as a Director and General Manager of Projects in the Information Society SA. From June 2018 to August 2019, she was the Director of Informatics and Technical Operation of EKOME SA. From August 2019 to October 2020, she served as the Managing Director of IDIKA SA. From October 2020 to April 2024, she served as the Chairman of BOD & CEO of IDIKA SA. Since then, she serves as CEO of IDIKA SA.
Pantelis Angelidis
Pantelis Angelidis is a Prof. on Bioinformatics & Digital Health in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece since 2008. He is a Telecommunication & Computer Engineer by education. He has worked on Technology for Health projects in Europe, US and Africa for the past 30 years. He has published over 130 papers in international journals, conferences and book chapters. He is the founder of Vidavo (http://www.vidavo.eu/), a Digital Health start-up in Thessaloniki, Greece. He has patented three telemedicine devices and one data processing algorithm. He was visiting professor at MIT Media Lab in 2009-10 and again in 2015-16. He is a visiting Prof. at UB Medical School, Barcelona, Kingston Un, UK and DIKU/UCPH, Copenhagen. He is a Marshall Memorial fellow and an alumni of the Bodosaki foundation. He is a Member of the Hellenic Innovation Network. He is active in turning research results into innovative products focusing on technologies for preventive health, personalized medicine and active ageing.
Agata Jakoncic
Agata is the Managing Director of MSD for Greece, Cyprus and Malta and along her career she has been a leader in roles of increasing responsibility, in commercial, marketing, supply optimization and country leadership roles. During her presence at MSD Greece, Agata has strengthened performance and inspired employees in a modern and innovative way of thinking, which places society, patients and people at the center of business operation.
Agata has built a high – performing, viable and effective organization and has paved the way for successful digital transformation. Under her guidance and positive enhancement, MSD embraced a new innovative organizational culture, applied new Agile Ways of Working, leveraged new technologies and launched new customer experiences to meet the needs of the external environment. Agata mobilizes people and cultivates leadership qualities to employees so that they experiment with new processes, tools and innovate on their own way. A strong advocate of Diversity and Inclusion and with a caring mind for the society we live in, Agata mentors women on leadership positions and supports the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance activities at MSD .
Agata has also served as the President of Pharma Innovation Forum in Greece for 3 years and currently a member of the Board, is a strong advocate of patient access to qualitative Healthcare and an ambassador of “MSD for Mothers” program that prevents maternal mortality.
Dimitris Stamopoulos
Researcher and PhD Candidate (Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics, NTUA)
Dimitris Stamopoulos is a graduate of the School of Chemical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (2019, Meng equivalent). He is a research associate at NTUA’s Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE) in a number of national and international research projects. He provides teaching support to undergraduate and postgraduate courses taught by the LIEE-NTUA team as well as in NTUA’s Centre for Lifelong Learning (Statistics and Data Analysis). Since October 2019, he has been a PhD candidate at LIEE in the area of Analysis and Prediction of Technological Changes (thesis title “Technological Forecasting as a Strategy for Business and Industrial Reorganization: The Case of Greece”). For the duration of his PhD thesis, he secured a competitive scholarship from the Special Account of Research Funds (ELKE) of NTUA.
His research interests revolve around modelling global value chains, intangible assets, economics of innovation and technological Change, and industrial and energy policy. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, presentations at international and national scientific conferences and many articles in the Greek press. In the context of his research activities, he has been extensively involved in the use and development of software tools for statistics and economic modeling through input-output frameworks.
Marios Themistocleous
Marios Themistocleous is the Deputy Minister of Health in Greece. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and he has a Ph.D. at the Medical School of the University of Athens and a Master of Science in management of health units.
Marios served as the Secretary General of Primary Health Care from 2020 to 2023 and as the Coordinator of the Vaccination Program against Covid-19. He has also served as the President of the National Central Health Procurement Authority, member of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee of the Government’s Policy for the Covid-19 pandemic, the President of the Chief Committee of Health Sector Insurance Fund (TSAY) and Vice President on the Board of Directors of ETAA (Unified Fund of the Self Employed). As a neurosurgeon, he has worked in hospitals in the United Kingdom, at “Evangelismos” General Hospital, and as a Registrar Α at the Neurosurgical Clinic of “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital.
